They say growing up is about learning who you are and what you stand for. I guess I'm still growing up because I'm still trying to figure that out.

I was born in Suriname, a small country in South America. As a child I had to come up with ways to cope with problems reading. I began to realize that reading did not have to be a struggle. It could be magical. I became a voracious reader. This need to read directed me when it was time to pick a field of study in college. I became an English Lit Major. As a recent graduate I struggled with what to do next. Years after Graduation I am still struggling but hopefully this blog will be a beneficial addition to my life that will help me make those decisions.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?"
~Marianne Williamson (excerpt)
